The prospect of doing integrative work can be a little intimidating to a new student. Rest assured that we don't expect students to come in with expertise in all of these areas. We're looking for fun, capable students who have demonstrated an ability to think broadly and take on challenging problems. This doesn't necessarily mean a student with excellent undergraduate grades, or someone with an undergraduate major in biochemistry. Grades and GRE scores are informative, but so are good research experience and a personal statement that demonstrates a capacity for original scholarship.
