**For student in Monday’s Lab, classes are not in session on Monday September 3. You should attend one of the other labs that week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).

Exams – are not during regularly scheduled lab periods. For each exam there are two times the exam can be taken on the same day.

Exam 1 – Wednesday October 3, at 5:30pm or at 7pm
Exam 2 – Tuesday November 27, at 7:30pm or at 9pm

UF Policy states that an exam for one class is an excused absence for missing another class. Therefore, having a class is not an acceptable reason for requesting a make-up exam.

Reviews – The Sunday and Monday before each exam we will hold a three hour review session in which all the specimens will be available to examine again.

Exam 1 Review Sunday September 30, 1-4pm
Monday October 1, 2-5pm (after lecture)
Exam 2 Review Sunday November 25, 5-8pm
Monday November 26, 2-5pm (after lecture)

Participation – Attendance alone will not be enough to receive full credit for participation.

Lab 5 Ichthyological Key – During the Teleost Outdoor Lab we will catch several fish which students will be expected to identify in the field using Field Guides and create a dichotomous key for.

DUE: Friday, October 5, 2007 (after lecture (1:40pm) – hand to a TA before leaving lecture)

Lab 11 Avian Profile – During the Aves Outdoor Lab we will see numerous birds which students will be expected to identify in the field using Field Guides. Each student will pick a different bird and create a species profile (including taxonomic, morphological, behavioral and ecological information on that species).

DUE: Friday, November 30, 2007 (after lecture (1:40pm) – hand to a TA before leaving lecture)

Wikipedia's Cladistics Webpage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cladistics - It has good definitions of many of the cladistic terms we use regularly in class.

Univeristy of Michigan Museum of Zoology's Animal Diversity Webpage http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/index.html - It is a very good website, run by taxonomy orientated scientists.
