I have been requested to remove the BIDS to BibTeX
converter from my home page by the folks at BIDS, who
point out quite reasonably that use outside of the UK
is illegal. If you use BIDS from outside the UK, please
don't. If you use BIDS from within the UK, you'll
have to find another place to get the converter.
Although I don't use BIDS any more, I have written an
input filter for using BIDS format with Dana Jacobsen's
"bp" package, a set of perl scripts for
general-purpose bibliographic format conversion.
You're welcome to use it, although I haven't tested the BIDS
filter much.
However, people keep contacting me about it, and it
doesn't seem unreasonable to point to other links.
I searched Google
with "bids bibtex" as keywords.
Most of the links found by Google point to mirrors of the version
of the script that now lives on
CTAN,
which seems to be one of
Anthony Stone's versions.
There are a few other versions of this script
floating around.
Versions of the original bids.to.bibtex script:
- CTAN
(UK mirror: last modified 29 Jan 1998). This looks like Anthony
Stone's version, it doesn't contain some of my modifications for
species names etc..
- Exeter,
school of physics has a different (older?) version
- Anthony
Stone mentions his version of this program on his website,
although there isn't a link to download it; I guess you have to e-mail
him for it, or assume that the version off CTAN is his most recent
Other BIDS conversion scripts (I haven't tested any of them):
